Sunday School:
Swamp’s Sunday School program for children is a fun, welcoming experience. Children meet in their classrooms for an age-appropriate Bible story and related activities, and then meet all together for singing. There is always a special offering project going on for children to learn the value of giving. All classes meet on the far side of the building (opposite of the parking lot). An usher can help you find the right classroom for your child.
Clubs:
Break away from the TV, computer, video games, and cell phone! Come get to know Jesus and some other kids while having a great time! Kindergartners through 5th graders meet every Wednesday evening from 7 to 8pm, from September through April. If you don’t have time for a meal, come between 6:30 and 7 for dinner! The purpose of the Clubs program is to help children in grades K-5 put Christ first in every phase of their lives and form healthy relationships. (Parental Release Form, Activity Permission Slip)
RIOT:
“RIOT” is the program designed for junior youth, which is students in grades 6-8. “RIOT” stands for Righteous Invasion of Truth. We desire to teach youth to be righteous in their lives so that others can see God in them. We meet every Wednesday evening at the church to play fun, active games like kickball or capture the flag and we’re always open to suggestions for a great new game! After that, the leaders share a lesson and the youth can ask questions and share their thoughts. You are welcome to come check us out, and bring a friend with you (a lot of us bring our friends!). We’ll see you Wednesday night (from September through April) from 7 to 8 at the church. Don’t forget, the church also offers dinner for parents and young people. Dinner is offered from 6:30 to 7, before RIOT and Clubs start. (Parental Release Form, Activity Permission Slip)
Senior High Youth:
Youth from 9-12th grade get together regularly for fun and to learn more about how to make Christ the center of their lives!
Sunday School:
We start out just catching up on our week and then move into a lesson prepared by our teacher, Jeff. The lesson is more like a discussion. He also encourages us to bring any topics or questions we have. It is all pretty relaxed and fun because you are getting together with people who know you and care about you. We think we are pretty welcoming, too!
Weekly Youth Group:
We meet every Monday night at 7pm. We start out the evening just playing games, and then we have a Bible study and discussion … and then we have snack (because we love food!).
Other random stuff we do:
Campouts, yearly mission trips, mini trips … We host auctions and other fun events at our church to raise money for mission trips or for the Mennonite Youth Convention, which is both fun and inspiring. Check out a few pics from our work trip to Vermont!

Vacation Bible School:
Next year’s dates will be June 18-22, 2012. Watch for details!
Check out this year's pictures!
Child Protection:
As people who work with children at Swamp Mennonite Church, we desire to create an environment of safety and nurturing for them so that they:
- feel free to act like kids
- can expect that they will not be harmed
- will find healing if they have been harmed
We seek to create a place where:
- we cultivate healthy attitudes and relationships with our children and
- we teach them to begin to own their faith in Christ
- we all learn to approach life as children, with curiosity and openness
